This signature tour starts in Avignon at the indoor gourmet market (Les Halles).
Together, we’ll pick up traditional Provencal food to enjoy during our picnic lunch.
The fun of tasting and picking out your picnic food becomes an opportunity for you to understand the culinary secrets of Provence.
While in the heart of Avignon, we will take time to admire the UNESCO world heritage sites and learn about the key historical elements that made Avignon one of the biggest medieval cities.
Next stop is the island opposite Avignon, the largest river island in Europe, to enjoy our picnic with a view of Avignon across the river.
After lunch, partake in the slow Provencal lifestyle with a digestif at the island distillery where over 20 different liqueurs and brandies are distilled.
The tour ends in Villeneuve-les-Avignons where one more "taste" awaits you: olive oil.
If your tour is in November, you may see the locals coming in with their olive harvest for the mill to press. (Tour does not run on Mondays, option of visiting Abbey Saint André).
